How To Book

Crew Information

  • Name: Andy Grocott
  • Role: Captain
  • Bio: I apprenticed and served on Tall Ships before moving to Yachts ten years ago. A keen sailor, I grew up rowing and sailing on the lakes and harbours of New Zealand. I enjoy the adventure, challenges and the responsibilities of commanding a large yacht and have a depth of experience having sailed in many of the worlds yachting destinations. I joined VvS1 part of the way through the build and gained a thorough knowledge of the vessel during this time. I look forward to welcoming you on board VvS1 some time in the future

  • Name: Belinda Grocott
  • Role: Chef
  • Bio: I'm originally from South Africa, where I studied food and nutrition before training as a chef in a five Star hotel. I lived in the UK for five years where I worked as a chef in a medieval castle. I pride myself on producing creative, nutritious meals using the best locally sourced ingredients. Andy and I have been working together as a captain/chef team since 2001. I enjoy gardening, reading and visiting friends and family in my spare time

  • Name: Ben Cameron-Saul
  • Role: First Mate
  • Bio: am a Canadian who moved to New Zealand as a kid and spent my youth on the water diving and sailing around Northland. While studying chemistry at university I spent my summers as a dive instructor and skipper working at the Poor Knights Marine reserve off the coast of New Zealand. Once completing my degree I decided that working on the water was more to my taste than a lab. For the past three years have continued working as a dive boat skipper in the summer months and working in the yachting industry during the off season. 2009 will be my second visit to the South Pacific Islands and am looking forward to getting to further explore one of the most unique places in the world
