Kamares Port - Syros
Just south and a little west of Syros is the island of Sifnos with some quiet escapes. It’s fun to get on land here and follow one of the many trails on foot to some of the most tranquil villages in Greece. As you approach the port, you’ll soon see the buildings and moles. Until you get into the bay, there are strong meltemi winds. It’s best to motor in and take down your sails. The bottom here is sand, rock and some weeds making for an acceptable hold. You can find a quay with holdings on one of the two moles. There are car and motorbike rentals available on shore.
