WARNING!!! WARNING!!! Do not use this yacht charter..... Wholly inadequate, amateur and frankly dangerous bunch of clowns, led by a white Rasta guy who is a tough act to follow.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines have some of the best sailing in the world but please use a another charter company.
My experience was the worst holiday experience of my life.... Badly maintained and dirty boats, drunk (or something else)staff, stealing and insufficient safety equipment for when the boat broke down, it was a nightmare. All topped at the end by a confrontation with my friend the white Rasta, a surly, bad mannered, ignorant individual.
Please beware. For the money your safety, security and the knowledge that you will be treated with respect when requesting something very reasonable and well within the limits of rational though is paramount, please whatever you do shop around and choose one of the other companies on the island, there are a few.
Happy sailing,
Ian

The boat was not well maintained. One of the cringles on the boom was broken, the lines were frayed, some almost completely through. Some of the running rigging needs replaced. Fenders were unusable. We were sent out from the base with a HOLED dinghy!!! The were no basic amenities on the boat when we arrived. The company should be renamed Bare Minimum since that is exactly what they provided. Save your money, charter with another company. Customer service is non-existent. In order to rate companies, there has to be a lowest standard and Barefoot is it!!!!

We have just returned from 10 exceptional days of sailing in the Grenadines. Barefoot Yacht Charters (BYC) was our chosen charter provider after rather extensive research and familiarity with the other charter outfits that service these wonderful islands. BYC pulls it all together. They can help with travel arrangements (we used their in-house travel consultant for flights from and to Barbados and land accommodations in Barbados for two days after the sail (our attempt at readjusting to civilization). They provided provisioning assistance (more on that later) and they have nice rooms overlooking Bequia and a great little restaurant called Driftwood that serves B, L and D. They communicated very well throughout the booking process and provided excellent information throughout the entire process.
Our scores are all 4s and 5s. The only reason that the 4s appear is 1) we are are hard graders and demand a lot of our boats and 2) our boat, Mucho Gusto, was prepared well but had a couple of minor issues that the owner needs to address (not the charterer).
These guys are great -- people chartering from Sunsail even came to Driftwood for dinner prior to their charter! Some words of advice: Take advantage of their on-land suites instead of booking a pre-charter night aboard because their boats are all on moorings, and put some time into planning your provisioning as their standard package may provide too much of some things and not enough of others.- Overall
