Phuket Yacht Charter Information

The Andaman Sea around the Thai island of Phuket is one of the world’s premier sailing and yacht chartering destinations. The Phuket marina makes a great base for exploring some of Thailand’s stunningly beautiful islands, such as the northwestern Surin Islands. Clear, smooth waters and a number of good anchoring holdages are characteristic of the east coast of Phuket. December, January and February are the ideal months to set out on a sailing or yacht chartering holiday – light winds of only 2 to 6 knots are common during this period. Harsh winds during the wet season of May to October make anchoring on the west coast problematic as a result of strong swells.
