Reid Harbor - Pacific Northwest

Reid Harbor on Stuart Island is part of the San Juans. If you don’t feel like sleeping aboard your teetering vessel, then you can spend a night in the campgrounds for a nominal fee. Like many of the San Juans, Stuart Island offers many a hiking trail for the sea weary sailor. Some of them offer great vistas while others stay closer to shore, revealing some nice hidden beaches. This area is also a very good place to spot Orca whales and other abundant sea creatures. Reid Harbor has 13 buoys for mooring while nearby Prevost Harbor (north, with a small airport landing strip) has only seven. There’s a 96-foot dock and if you don’t like staying here, there are some really good anchorages around the island.
