Nice (pronounced Neese) is a nice (pun, well… intended) Mediterranean sailing destination, known the world over as the Cote d’Azur. If you’d like a quick day-sail to Cannes or Monaco, then Nice makes a great overnight mooring to get your supply stores stocked. You’ll then have only a few nautical miles chartering a power yacht to many of the Mediterranean’s prime waterfronts, where you can put up for one or more nights at the Iles d’Or, full of untainted nature. If you come in early summer or, more specifically, spring, then you’ll get some nice currents of air coming from the west heading north. If you’re a later summer sailor, you can catch the westerlies to any one of the sequestered bays or bights.
