Maldives Yacht Charter Information
The Maldives, an island nation composed of 26 atolls and located in the Indian Ocean, offer excellent conditions for sailing, chartering a yacht, or even jumping in a dhoni, the traditional boat of the Maldives! There are two distinct monsoon seasons in the Maldives: May to October in the southwest islands and November to April in the northeast islands. Strong winds and gusts of rain coming from the southwest blow through in June and July, making for less calm yacht charter conditions. Numerous anchorage locations exist; try not to spend too much time in the capital city of Male, and head instead to some of the lovely, hidden-away harbors such as island of Bandos.
