Anchorages in Malaysia

1. Pulau Dayang Bunting: Pulau Dayang Bunting is also known as the Island of the Pregnant Maiden and is the second largest island in the archipelago. The island is named for its freshwater lake, Lake of the Pregnant Maiden, which is rumored to possess magical powers magical powers to help childless couples bear children if they drink water from the lake. Many anchorages on the southern side of the island, with a well protected spot between the island and Gubang Darat.



2. Koh Lipe: Beautiful town in Thailand with many beautiful beaches. Great snorkeling and diving off any of the three main beaches: Pattaya Beach, Sunset Beach and Sunrise Beach.



3. Datai Bay and Burau Bay: These bays are located on the beautiful scenic northwestern shore of Langkawi. This area has many exclusive resorts and top notch Datai golf course. Either drop an anchor north of one of the bay's barrier islands or head into the Telaga Harbour Yacht Club.



4. Pantai Tengah: Pulau Tepor is a small island a half mile from Langkawi's Pantai Tengah beach. This is a beautiful, quiet beach that is perfect for sunbathing or just relaxing in peace and quiet.
