Kamari Port - Kos

Kamari Port (a.k.a. Kamari Bay, Kamari Beach and Kefalos Beach) lays quite a ways south of Kos Harbor. It is just east of Kefalos town. This harborage offers a good retreat from the northwesterly meltemi winds that blow during the summer. You can easily drop anchor here as the water reaches four to six meters, with sand or weeds that make for a steadfast anchor point. You can also head for the manmade mole that juts out. There is a bar and a taverna (place to get eats and drinks) on the opposite end of the beach. Tourist do take water-skis and jet boats out on the water, so noise keeps tranquility to a minimum.
