Palaiokastritsa - Corfu
Just southeast of Palaiokastritsa town, there is a small harbor that offers some protection from the sea. This whole section of coastline has little peninsulas projecting out into the bay, offering some nice escapes from the beating waves that can and do occasionally come in here. There are four total bays and a bus or taxi boat can get you to any of them fairly easily. If you’re thirsting or hankering for food, there are some exceptional tavernas and shops here, where you can watch a folklore show or two at night. There are some nice hills and greenery to fascinate the eyes. There is a Byzantine museum here with one disco and plenty of history and legend. Ask about the Virgin Mary and the pirate ship story when you come.
