Belize Yacht Charter Information
Belize's large protected yacht charter area and easterly trade winds around 15-20 knots make for excellent yacht charter conditions. Most cays are between 10 and 20 nautical miles from each other, meaning you will never lose sight of land. Experienced sailors are needed to navigate between the abundant reef systems and recognize coral from the boat. The Barrier Reef does offer great protection from large open swells, ensuring calm waters often. The northern yacht charter area boasts shorter island hops, shallower turquoise water, and more populated cayes with restaurants and bars. In contrast, the southern sailing area offers deeper water, cayes spread out further providing longer exhilarating sails, and less crowded yacht charter anchorages near many uninhabited cayes.
