Athens Yacht Charter Summary Information
Athens, by and large, offers similar sailing conditions as the rest of the Mediterranean. In the winter, you’ll have cooler temperatures, more rain and perhaps choppier waters. In and around the many islands, like Kithnos and Syros to the west, you’ll have to be on the look out for some more unpredictable swells rolling in. In the summer, however, the weather brings the occasional dusting of rain. With temperatures reaching near 90 F, you’ll be happy to leave Kalamaki and get caught in a shower or two—come October, the rains increase exponentially—though not bad enough to inhibit a good sail to any number of the 6000 islands (5,773 uninhabited!). June and July bring in some western zephyrs, though later summer is a near perfect time for sailing or power yacht chartering.
